Financial Accountant

Tamworth, Staffordshire

£40 - 45,000 per annum

We are recruiting for an experienced Financial Accountant to join our Overheads team in Tamworth.

You will take ownership of the total overheads number responsible for, all P&L and balance sheet accounts linked to overheads. You will be the go-to person for overhead explanation and analysis for senior management. A driver of improvements in overhead cost accounting and act as a senior in the preparation and transmission of monthly accounts.

Responsibilities of the Financial Accountant

  • Ownership of all aspects of overhead cost accounting, both P&L and balance sheet including, Employment and T&S, Logistics, Property, Marketing, Information Technology and HR & Office costs
  • Driving improvements in overhead cost accounting and reconciliations
  • Ensuring team adherence to financial controls in a Sarbanes-Oxley environment
  • Key player in preparation and transmission of month end, quarterly and annual reporting
  • Management and development of two direct reports
  • Liaison with external auditors as necessary
  • Ad hoc support as required by the business
  • Involvement with annual budgets for property expenditure

Skills Needed

  • You will have previous Financial accounting experience
  • Qualified chartered, certified accountant or Part qualified with the right experience.
  • Good knowledge of Lease & rent- free accounting
  • You will have a year post-qualification experience or three years part qualified
  • Superior Excel skills (able to preform V-Look Ups and Pivots)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • A driven, hands-on and a hard-working individual
