Interim Group Accountant

My client is a well-known and highly respected brand within the payment services sector with operations in the UK and across the globe. The division I am working with currently has operations based in the UK, Ireland, Germany, South Africa, Australia and US.

Due to continued growth and increased workload, they are now looking to add an Interim Group Accountant to the team, who will have a wide range of responsibilities.

Your key tasks / responsibilities will include:

• Producing monthly financials in accordance with group policies and US GAAP.
• Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare balance sheet/P&L variance analysis and investigate any large, unusual entries.
• Review and document month end processes with a view to improving accuracy and efficiency.
• Assist with the preparation and completion statutory financial statements for UK entities under IFRS
• Liaise with Group auditors to obtain a clear understanding of deliverable requirements and quality expectations
• Review/prepare any statutory adjustments/disclosures that may be required under IFRS
• During the audit, provide deliverables to auditors in a timely manner
• Assist with provision of accounting data to the Group Tax team and external advisors as appropriate to support the Group Tax processes.
• Support the review and management of all cross border transactions and transfer pricing ensuring compliance with local/US GAAP and tax
• Ensure continued compliance with internal controls and maintenance of a strong internal control environment and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements

Candidate requirements:

• The successful candidate will be a newly qualified ACA / ACCA accountant.
• It would be an advantage if you have had experience within a listed / international Financial Services / Payment Services / Tech business.
• You should have had exposure of US GAAP reporting and the ability to influence key stake holders. 
• Experience with working with External Auditors and preparing financial statements under IFRS
