Internal Audit Manager

Sharp Consultancy are delighted to be working with one of the most exciting businesses in South Yorkshire in a brand new and unique role that will offer the right candidate a career defining move. The business have experienced rapid growth that is on course to rise exponentially given the current market, company investment and direct and ambitious leadership of the management team. This brand new role reports directly into Director level and will head up a brand new Internal Audit and Controls function. You will be tasked with ensuring that this brand new role not only provides essential support and controls into the financial reporting of the business, but also adds real value to the wider Group through planned processes and project management.

You will not only set up the function, but be the leader in terms of its methodology and delivery. By analysing the current business practice and developing the internal controls function, you will look to identify internal and external threats and risks of loss. You will provide strategic and operational proposals to senior stakeholders to improve the controls and reduce the exposure across the group. You will work in conjunction with the financial accounts team to assess existing process and implement new systems and controls.

This is a fun and unique business to work for. The group's growth plans are clear and extremely ambitious. You must be able to grow with the business and have the desire and ambition to make this role your own. You will be trusted with highly sensitive information and be expected to manage your own workload, whilst having support and guidance from a number of senior managers.

Given this is a new role then there is significant scope for the right person to make this part of the business their own. You will be a qualified accountant with audit experience obtained in a fast moving environment, or alternatively an operationally experienced professional with a track record of continual improvement and an understanding of financial and procedural controls.
