Financial Controller

An award winning independent Media Agency are looking for an established and ambitious Financial Controller to provide key support to the Finance Director, Founding Partners and Leadership Team and contribute towards the delivery of their ambitious growth targets.

Financial Controller responsibiiities:

• Day to day management of the Finance team to ensure strong controls and robust processes are in place
• Production of insightful analysis (e. Client Profitability, actual performance vs. budget and prior year)
• Review of monthly management accounts to ensure accuracy and reliability. This includes the detailed review of all balance sheet reconciliation and supporting schedules.
• Review and understand financial performance against prior year, budget and forecast, which will then allow insights and trends to be reported to relevant stakeholders.
• Detailed revenue analytics to support the business, understanding performance and liaising with the Commercial teams
• Assist the Finance Director in the review and preparation of Client Contracts and commercial terms
• Assist the Finance Director in the preparation of Client Costings for new business and development of commercial propositions.
• Responsible for management of the year end audit review.
• Management of key relationships with third party suppliers.

Financial Controller requirements:

• Ideally qualified ACA/CIMA (or equivalent) with 2-3 years post qualified experience.
• Can develop staff and get the best out of them
• Energetic, determined and personable
• Experience in a Media or Advertising Agency would be be highly desirable
• Good team player who is able to work with a variety of people
• Ability to think around problems and get to inventive solutions
• Strong experience in income statement analysis.
• Excellent knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP's, SUMIFS's etc.) and PowerPoint
• Experience with Media Ocean a plus
