Badenoch & Clark have been retained by a growing and market dominant organisation who are looking for Financial Controller as part of their continued expansion.

Reporting into the CFO your key responsibilities include:

Professional management and development of a small but effective finance team including 5 direct reports
Preparation of quality and timely monthly board reports and management accounts, to include profit & loss accounts, balance sheet and cashflow statements, trading and cost centres analysis. Insightful commentary to accompany the management accounts and other summarised reporting
Develop KPI and balanced scorecard reporting to support and measure progress against strategic, business and financial objectives
Managing the production and development of the UK financial board papers, including papers for the company's Audit and Investment committees
Development of the project accounting framework for the business including activity based costing and enhanced systems and processes to streamline cost allocations
Development of an enhanced reporting and control framework to drive for further demonstrable value for money on cost centre spending
Managing the FP&A commercial business partner and co-ordinating with the other commercial business partners as part of the overall forecast, budget and long term strategic planning processes, maintaining the underlying budget and forecast financial models and inputting cost centre and balance sheet assumptions
Managing the Financial accountant with responsibility for statutory company accounts preparation and audit.
Tax compliance, to include corporate, payroll and indirect taxes.
Treasury management and decision making for the group. Recommending treasury decisions to comply with policy and internal approval processes
Set up and development of overseas subsidiary companies in line with the business's expansion plans
Managing the Finance supervisor responsible for the process and improvements required in the procure to pay function and processing of all payment transactions
Responsibility for maintenance and development of core processes, internal controls and systems within Finance, consistent with the provision of excellent service to internal and external customers while ensuring financial controls are reviewed and adhered to
Responsible for the timely preparation and review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy of management accounts prepared
Management of General Ledger system (Sage 200) and evaluation of requirements for further system investments
Contribution to finance presentations - e. AGM and Board
Deputising for the CFO as required

Engaging and partnering with the key stakeholders of the business to drive the growth agenda and help those stakeholders understand the financial implications of their plans and actions
Deliver robust, insightful reporting and analyses that are understood by the business and used as a basis for decision making

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant who underpins technical expertise with excellent staff management skills plus possesses the ability to interact confidently and build trust with senior management
