Part-Time Accounts Assistant

My client based in St. Albans, Hertfordshire is a friendly and growing construction company, looking for an Accounts Assistant to work on a part-time basis cooperating closely with the whole team in a great working environment. The roles you will be responsible for are purchase and sales ledger, financial reporting and subcontractor payroll. The position offers 21-24 hours per week with flexible hours.

This job would suit an Accounts Assistant who is confident in approaching tasks with an organised approach. The role involves inputting details from creditors and debtors on Xero, preparing company returns and ensuring subcontractors are paid on a weekly basis. The right candidate will be comfortable in working in a team environment, with previous Accounts Assistant/Bookkeeper experience and will have good Excel skills.

Duties will include:

  • Handling the purchase and sales ledger by inputting invoices in Xero
  • Prepare company returns through HMRC including NIC and PAYE
  • Payroll and wages for subcontractors and employees including payslips and dividends
  • Preparing financial reports on sales figures using Xero, as well as various ad hoc duties
  • Preparing company and vehicles taxes and insurances
