This team provides support to the business in all aspects of Finance, this includes expense management & budgeting, revenue planning, new business modelling, project support, and ad-hoc financial advice. This financial analyst will play an important role within the team, taking ownership of key monthly tasks & making improvements to processes wherever possible. You will gain a strong understanding of the Insurance industry and develop financial skills in a practical way to complement your study towards professional qualification (ACCA or CIMA).
Key Responsibilities
- Produce monthly expense, resource and variance reporting
- Provide support & advice to budget holders on expense management issues
- Participate in the annual expense budgeting process
- Contribute to the revenue & branch planning processes
- Work with the business to model new broker opportunities
- Prepare broker profit share calculations
- Deal with ad-hoc queries and requests from across the Broker business
- Involvement in corporate projects & initiatives
Skills & Experience
- A working knowledge of management accounting techniques
- Strong Excel skills; comfortable dealing with large volumes of data and consolidating information from multiple sources.
- Proven experience of reporting / working to tight deadlines
- An aptitude for systems work would be beneficial
- Insurance experience is advantageous
Qualifications
Studying towards (or keen to start) CIMA/ACCA
- Degree in relevant subject (Maths, Economics, Finance) preferred
