Trainee Accountant

Multi Partner firm, seeks Trainee Accountant to join their expanding firm

Your new role

• Bookkeeping - maintain accounting records on behalf of clients;
• Prepare and maintain VAT returns (various schemes);
• Assist with the preparation of statutory financial statements from source records and trial balance;
• Assist with financial audits (an independent check of an organisation's financial position);
• Assist with the preparation of tax returns: personal, corporate, partnerships;
• Collating information and assisting the payroll department with CIS returns and P11Ds;
• Keep accurate time records during the performance of your duties;
• Prepare draft correspondence to various parties (Clients, HMRC, Banks, Companies House etc.);
• Assisting with and maintaining the firm's 'archive records';
• Undertaking general administration duties as required

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience in an accountancy practice (or equivalent)
• AAT part qualified would be ideal, but not required
• Basic understanding of double entry and accounts preparation
• Software experience an advantage (Xero / CCH)

What you'll get in return
Salary: £17,000 - £21,000 (depending on qualification and experience)
Holiday: Bank holidays + 20 days annual leave increasing with length of employment
