Chief Financial Officer

SF Group are working with a privately owned construction / projects business in Birmingham to source a bright and commercially astute CFO for their growing business.

As CFO of this stand alone business you will work with the owners to drive and deliver strategy as well as take the lead on any issues with banks, legal firms and other external stakeholders.

Given the project nature of this business you will be responsible for up-skilling the business in this area. You will provide market leading insight into which projects are delivering the right (and wrong) returns and be able to work with non financial project managers to ensure that the budgeted out-turn on specific projects is delivered - you will also ensure that the projects and costed / budgeted for correctly in the first place!

An experienced FD / CFO you will already have worked at a senior level within a 'projects business' - this will have been in a construction / manufacturing setting rather than in a service / people based business - this element is non negotiable.

We will happily consider candidates either from the SME, PLC or PE environments - sector experience is the most important facet here.

We will also only be able to consider candidates that live within a reasonable commute of Birmingham.
