Finance Manager

Vacancy Description:

A highly visible opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Finance Manager to join our finance team based in Birmingham City Centre (Aston) on a 6-9 month fixed contract.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide financial management, forecasting, and review on a complex high-profile contract that will soon be in transition back to the client.
• Assist in ah hoc modelling required for contract transition.
• Support the Financial Controller and Finance Director with timely and accurate forecasting and review for operations.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Month end delivery for several cost centres
• Financial reporting and forecasting within the tight month end schedule
• No suprises mentality
• Lead monthly and Outturn forecasting and financial review meetings and analyse performance of the business
• Streamline and improve back office and finance processes on a continual basis
• Key contact for group finance on any issues (sales/purchase ledger, management accounts)
• Attend monthly business reviews with business unit Operating Directors & present in month performance as well as the forecast outlook
• Manage and forecast working capital for the business unit so that maximum levels of positive cash flow are achieved
• Assist in external & internal audits and ensure all aspects of compliance and control are met
• Proactively work to support other members of the finance team and lead on any specific adhoc projects

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

• Experience with SAP and/or Axiom extremely desirable
• CIMA/ACCA/ACA Qualified accountant and with demonstrable technical accounting ability/experience
• Ability to present and challenge at Director / Business Manager level with insightful information
• Business planning, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Self-starter with hands on approach
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and data manipulation skills
• Experience in a PLC environment helpful
