Farrer Barnes are currently working with a very successful SME who are looking to recruit a Finance Manager to look after their established finance team. Reporting to the Head of Operations, The Finance Manager will be responsible for the business reporting & planning process that underpins the success of the organisation. You will manage the accounting operations including the production of periodic financial reports, the maintenance of all accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets to mitigate any business risk, ensure accurate reporting that complies with current recognised accounting principles.

Main Duties:

  • Undertaking strategic analysis and assisting business planning.
  • The maximisation of profitability and cash flow, by ensuring income is fully recognised and expenditure is controlled.
  • Responsibility for the operation of the finance department ensuring the integrity of the financial data held within it, including reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts
  • Efficient management of accounts payable and accounts receivable, including credit control, leading to accurate forecasting and reporting of cash flow
  • Overseeing the smooth operation of the payroll system
  • Issue timely and accurate financial statements, including monthly management accounts and the annual report
  • Manage performance against budget, reporting on any variances in terms of business performance and cost control.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis in relation to potential investments and contract negotiations
  • Coordinate the provision of information to external accountants to enable production of annual reports and corporation tax computations
  • Carry out general Company Secretarial duties
  • Assist in the production of the annual budget
  • Liaising with managerial staff, Finance Director and other colleagues
  • Management and development of the Finance team members ensuring full engagement and professional development

Requirements:

  • Ideally educated to degree level
  • Qualified accountant with a recognised professional body
  • Experience of managing a Finance Team
  • Contributing to a Senior Management Team
