Interim Income Accountant

One of our key NHS clients are looking for an Income Accountant to join their team on an Interim basis for 6 months

Responsibilities

The postholder will be responsible for ensuring the hospital provides an efficient, high quality and comprehensive income reporting and billing service.

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Reporting income performance against plan to Trust executives and Health Care Groups
• Ensuring efficient and effective systems are in place so that the Trusts income streams are fully realised in an efficient manner
• Working with Finance managers to lead the activity and income aspects of the annual financial planning process
• Overseeing and developing the monthly processes for producing monthly, quarterly, annual reports, forecast outturns
• Assisting the Financial Services team in responding to Internal and External Audit reports and in implementing agreed recommendations
• Ensuring appropriate processe4s are in place to ensure the Trust maximises its total income through the national tariff payment system
• Interpreting and implementing complex, ambiguous national policy across the organisation
• Ensuring the development of robust information recording and reporting systems to deliver activity and finance information against individual CCG and NHSE contracts
• Developing good relationships with lead personnel within the trust

Qualifications/experience required 

• Professional postgraduate accountancy qualification e.g. CIPFA, CIMA, ACCA
• Knowledge of Standard Acute Contract
• Knowledge of NHS financial framework
• Experience of using SLAM
