Financial Controller | London | Up to £80,000 per annum + Additional Benefits
Reporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will principally be responsible for all aspects of planning and financial reporting. Some of the key responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for establishing and executing internal controls over the accounting and financial procedures.
- Enabling the business to improve its financial processes initially focusing on accounts payable, expenses and cashier processes and deployment of new workflow systems.
- Manage and develop finance staff, ensuring that their recruitment, training, supervision and performance management is effective in order to fulfil individual and team objectives.
- Implement a review of existing processes and controls to identify improvements that can be introduced to ensure financial processes and controls operate effectively and efficiently on a day to day basis.
- Project management of system process changes and implementations
- Responsible for management of month end close process, ensuring integrity and adherence to timetable.
- Work closely with the Finance Systems Teams to ensure the month end system reconciliations are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure that all monthly balance sheet account reconciliations completed on timely basis and differences are investigated and resolved promptly.
- Ensure Inter company balance reconciliations are performed in line with global process.
- Develop and implement financial policies, maintaining finance manual for the business, ensuring that it remains current, relevant and accessible to staff.
- Ensuring all statutory and regulatory reporting is completed accurately and on time.
- Liaise with auditors with regards to queries and information requested during the interim and final audit process.
Experience required:
- Qualified Accountant —ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, with a strong technical background
- Up to date with Accounting Standards (including the latest FRS102 and IFRS15) and possess experience working at Financial Controller level.
- Regulatory reporting background
- Proven track record of managing the consolidated finances of a growing business
- Able to work under pressure and make autonomous decisions on a daily basis
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel
- Flexible and enthusiastic approach with the ability to manage own workload, priorities and deadlines.
