A fast paced, high growth business with a global reach requires a high calibre finance analyst. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified accountant or late stage studier to fast-track their career within a fast moving industry where development and progression are encouraged.

The company has multiple sites and you will be the first point of contact for the site General Managers, helping them to maximise profitability through the provision of insightful financial information to facilitate the continual improvement of operational efficiency, available capacity and service levels. You will work closely with an experienced finance business partner to ensure that suitable financial controls and processes are in place as well as with the wider finance team to ensure that working capital is actively managed and improved and that the month end, budget and forecasting cycles are managed accurately and to schedule.

Key responsibilities will include:
• Be the finance ‘go to’ person for the site General Managers and assist the Finance Business Partner in maintaining strong cost controls
• Work alongside FBP to help prepare capital expenditure proposals/business cases
• Assist FBP by preparing relevant and accurate analysis for forecasts and budgets
• Ownership of the initial full P&L reviews in the month end process
• Work with FBP to understand the drivers of variances to budgets/forecast, understand the associated opportunities/risks and provide solutions to maximise or minimise these
• Assist FBP in improving working capital management with a specific focus on debt and stock control
• Preparation of operational efficiency reports, analysis of the data and production of recommended actions
• Identify new ways of collecting/analysing data with both internal and external stakeholders to help improve understanding and decision making
• Champion and ensure that all financial controls are consistently implemented across all sites
• Multiple ad hoc projects ranging from analysis of stock held through to customer stock buying trends, redundant / slow moving stock identification and action as appropriate
• Engage with commercial finance analyst to get them to investigate queries raised by you against comparable businesses / sites in the group.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated nearly or newly qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA). You will have a strong understanding of financial management, reporting and effective financial controls and will have the ability to implement these. Excellent IT skills (with advanced Excel) and strong communication skills (at all levels across the business) are a must. This role will suit someone with an innovative approach, bringing confidence to implement new ideas.
