A Finance Business Partner / Plant Accountant is required by an international manufacturing business based on the outskirts of Nottingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a part / newly qualified accountant to join a high-tech business that invests heavily in both its people and product portfolio. The role is pivotal to providing business partner support to key manufacturing personnel by means of the analysis and review of current manufacturing operations.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Business partnering – provide finance support to the manufacturing manager and other areas of the operations team
- Prepare monthly reports to explain manufacturing results with insightful analysis
- Utilise reports to identify areas for improvement and work with managers to implement changes
- Cost accounting: reviewing production order variances, monitoring and explaining manufacturing cost centre spend variances, standard cost analysis / estimates
- Inventory control
- Preparing the labour and overhead rates, including analysis of rates against previous versions and providing justification of variances
- Monthly budgeting and forecasting
The successful candidate will be a part-qualified / newly qualified accountant, ideally with experience of working in a manufacturing / FMCG environment. More important however, is your interpersonal skill set that will engage with, educate and challenge key stakeholders within the business.
