High-profile, Global Infrastructure Investment Management Group is looking to appoint a Portfolio Manager to support its Renewable Energy Fund.

The Portfolio Manager will:

  1. lead portfolio management initiatives and provide support to other support functions for the fund including operations management, fund management, investor relations and financial management
  2. be responsible for monitoring, forecasting and enhancing the value from the investments in the Renewable Energy portfolio
  3. lead value enhancement initiatives including refinancings, tax management and PPA strategy analysis.

Key responsibilities for the Portfolio Manager include:

  • identifying and managing value enhancements
  • managing initiatives on the investments and holding structure of the portfolio including optimising cashflows, refinancings, financial restructuring, tax claims, accounting policies etc.
  • managing the preparation of financial forecasts, in particular, forecasting cashflow and dividend cash cover and, in conjunction with the Portfolio Director, preparing the annual business plan

The Portfolio Manager will also:

  • lead the semi-annual valuation of the portfolio including managing Analysts
  • assist the team in the preparation of Board papers and presentations, shareholder materials and fund-raising documents
  • respond to Analyst questions and support the Fund Manager, Portfolio Director and Investor Relations teams to prepare information for Analysts and Investors

Additional responsibilities for the Portfolio Manager involve:

  • managing refinancings of underlying sub-portfolios of investments, assisting in the Group debt management in consultation with the Portfolio Director
  • supporting acquisitions, considering impact on the portfolio returns and cashflows
  • supporting management of the Revolving Credit Facility lenders and extensions

Suitable applicants will:

  • Have strong financial modelling skills
  • Have strong valuation experience in infrastructure and/or renewables (ideally within a fund)
  • Be CIMA, CPA, ACA or MBA qualified (desirable but not essential)
  • Have proven/significant work experience in renewables and/or infrastructure including project finance, transaction and portfolio management experience
