Description

Business Standards & Controls including Complaints:

  • Ensure key risk frameworks, appetites and measures for the business are well defined and performance is reported through appropriate Risk or Governance forums, highlighting areas of concern and candidates for remediation or improvement
  • Work collaboratively with Group Risk and Compliance teams to ensure consistency of oversight and application of key risk processes and controls; aligned with Group Policy and tested regularly to ensure they remain effective or remediate where necessary
  • Lead, drive and implement key changes, business improvements and projects relating to finance and operational risk, driving best practice behaviours that help embed a culture of continuous improvement and enable the operation to deliver a measurable step-change in performance
  • Ensure and oversee the effective management of customer monies on a timely basis and in accordance with regulatory and audit standards, achieved through maintenance and development of robust financial management and control processes and procedures. To include daily funding calculations for accounts and their associated control accounts
  • Lead and develop delivery of strong and insightful reconciliation and cash-flow MI, data and analytic capabilities within finance operation
  • Ensure that the appropriate Finance MI, processes and systems are in place to provide support to Retail Investments to ensure that customers are treated fairly in line with Customer Experience and TCF Policy

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships and governance arrangements with senior internal and external stakeholders, particularly with internal regulatory and compliance colleagues, in order to support and facilitate productive and collaborative working practices and the delivery of required business standards which protect and enhance the Group's reputation

Profile

  • A recognised finance (accountancy) and risk management qualification is beneficial
  • An applied understanding of the financial services market in the UK
  • Awareness of the remit of related regulators such as PRA, ABI and HMRC
  • Operational management disciplines including risk lines of defence, business improvement, project and change strategies, audit adherence, workforce management, and strategic planning
  • Participating as member of Senior Leaderships Team
  • Leading and managing Line 1 Operational risk and business standards teams in a regulated financial services environment, preferably Pensions related
  • Overseeing control of Operational Financial reporting function
  • Leading and overseeing the delivery of end to end business improvement and change within a risk and controls environment
  • Leading, developing and engaging a large employee base in a complex customer service environment and delivering successful outcomes with a measurable positive impact on customers, employees and performance
  • Producing and interpreting management information/customer intelligence to effect business improvements and deliver customer service strategies
