Financial Controller

The PSD Group is currently retained to recruit a Financial Controller for a leading Construction & Infrastructure organisation based in Cumbria. The opportunity has arisen due to continued growth and the need to provide further support to the Finance Director and finance team. 

The successful applicant will be responsible for the co-ordination, smooth running and performance of the Finance Department. 

Reporting to the Finance Director you will oversee the large finance team whilst having significant interaction with operations. 

Duties will include:

• Assisting the FD in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders and board members
• Reviewing all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities 
• Examining all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies 
• Creating systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations 
• Preparing monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends and financial forecasts 
• Managing cash-flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports 
• Suggesting updates and improvements for accounting systems, including payroll and invoicing 
• Ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported 
• Establishing and implementing financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation 
• Collaborating with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations 
• Developing budgets and financial plans for the company based on research and data reports 
• Reporting to the FD with timely and accurate financial information 

Person

You will be a fully qualified accountant with experience of operating within a Construction or Infrastructure environment. You will have experience of ensuring rigorous processes and controls are adhered to and have the capability to create excellent working relationships at all levels.  Experience of operating within a framework environment is essential. Experience of COINS, COGNOS or Anaplan would be highly desirable.

£90,000 plus car, bonus and benefits.
