Elevation Recruitment Group are recruiting a Financial Accountant for a leading PLC, to be based at their Head Office in Alfreton.

The purpose of the role is to assist with the Group financial accounting, reporting and control activities and to lead on cash flow management, ensuring they are carried out efficiently and in accordance with best practice and UK GAAP.

You will also be required to continuously review the internal control / audit environment to highlight areas of risk, and to assist with the planning and implementation of year-end audit process through to submission, liaising with external audit and tax partners to ensure successful sign off of group financial accounts to investor timescale.

Responsibilities will include:

- Preparation of year-end audit files, consolidated statutory accounts and tax comps
- Monthly balance sheet reviews with divisional management accountants and payroll manager
- Ensuring timely, accurate payroll submissions and reporting
- Period end reporting to the Board and external stakeholders
- Cash flow management and reporting, highlighting issues to senior management
- Maintenance of integrated financial model for actual and budgetary reporting
- Ensure compliance with UK GAAP
- To improve the quality and accuracy of management information
- Identifying and implementing process improvements
- Ensuring adherence to "best practice" procedures and processes
- Providing guidance and support to the finance and administration teams
- Ad-hoc projects as required by Group senior management

Key Duties:

- Audit preparation; including the creation of audit files per PBC list, production of consolidated statutory accounts and tax computations
- Balance sheet control
- Cash flow forecasting and reporting
- PAYE, VAT & Corporation Tax
- Maintaining Group fixed asset registers
- Internal audit
- Production of monthly management information
- Budget and forecast preparation
- Provide support and cover to finance and administration teams on an ad-hoc basis

Experience Required / Qualifications:

- Qualified ACA or ACCA
- Practice background
- Competent in use of Excel
- Strong leadership and communication skills
