A leading retailer with a global presence is looking to hire a Financial Controller to head up its team that supports Operations, Supply Chain and Production activities.
Reporting to the Group Head of Finance the role will manage a team of 3 across 4 sites based across Europe.
The role holder will be responsible for ensuring a close relationship between the Finance teams and their peers across Production, Brand and Supply Chain which will require occasional travel to Europe.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Lead on Product Development finance; responsible for financial support and cost measurement for product cost across the full planning horizon, to include reporting and periodic, quarterly, annual and long-term forecasting
- Act as the commercial and reporting link between Operational teams and Finance, with responsibility of product cost reporting of actuals and budgets and margin.
- Continuous review of financial performance and key KPI’s across inbound, warehousing, freight operations and sourcing & production
- Identifying areas of cost and process inefficiencies and driving through the change necessary to ensure that these are eliminated by working with senior management across the business
- Driving and supporting continuous efficiency improvement across the end to end product development
- Support the Brand Management & Operational teams initiatives - build clear cost & provides reporting monthly to ensure the business can clearly assess progress
- Provide support to all Improvement Projects and ensure numbers are robust and achievable
- Working with Brand Management, Retail and Product teams to develop the stock optimisation programs
- Identify risks and opportunities
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) with a proven track record of working in a Business Partnering role within a retail environment. Experience of product costing, pricing and an appreciation of stock and margin is critical for this role.
