Morgan McKinley are working with a large well known organisation based in Redhill recruiting for a Credit Control Manager. This is a newly created role managing a newly restructured team of 15 agents (3 direct reports), so an exciting time to join!
Your team will have control of the SME ledger, operating within a high volume collection environment where key responsibility are critical to cash flow, bad debt and operational efficiency. This is an extremely fast moving and highly target driven function.
- Monitoring of day to day operations across the SME credit and collections function. Direct resource planning, development of team & establishing goals for performance.
- Lead collection activity for SME business unit - Billed Turnover range of c.£400m
- Ensure a customer segmentation strategy is in place to optimise collections
- Develop strategies to ensure the best customer experience throughout the collections life-cycle
- Identify and implement best practices to ensure the cost effectiveness of collections processes
- Performance management of third party debt collection/legal relationships
- Drive & report on achievement of KPI's for SME collections & monitor key trends
- Ensure highest levels of compliance and quality management
- Ownership of collections Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) model for SME collections.
- Producing timely MI that accurately reflects the performance of the team and individuals
Skills and experience required
- It is essential that you have recent proven experience of working in an SME credit environment and have implemented processes in chasing from SME/sole traders. Large corporate credit control is not the right skill set for this role.
- Experience of working in a high volume, customer driven collections environment
- Proven track record of project/change management and process improvement
- Leadership experience and motivating a team
- Managing 3rd Party supply contracts
