Financial Accountant

My client is seeking an impressive Part Qualified Financial Accountant to join their growing Finance team based in Dunstable.

Description

The Financial Accountant will report to the Financial Controller. They will be responsible for performing all general accounting activities in an accurate and timely manner. This includes bank reconciliations, general accounting, period end close, fixed assets, project tracking and cost accounting activities as required to ensure the accurate capture and reporting of financial and performance activities of the business units.

The responsibilities will include:

• Ensure Period End close activities are performed according to agreed close schedules
• Create and submit journal entry for review and approval.
• Process intercompany transactions, including inbound/outbound invoices and credits and other journals such as dividends, funding, loans and associated interest entries.
• Perform monthly General Ledger reconciliations and maintain supporting documentation
• Perform weekly Bank reconciliations
• Ensure recurring accrual and reversing journal entries are correctly setup
• Ensure proper capitalisation (of fixed assets / projects), expensing and project closure on a timely basis
• Monitor and correct errors in data imported into the cost centres
• Prepare Financial reports (run trial balance reports etc.) and prepare regulatory reports as required (statutory / tax / other)
• Prepare other reports as required - e. Inventory reporting

Profile

The successful Financial Accountant will be:

• Part Qualified ACCA or CIMA and be actively studying.
• Knowledge of Journals / Accruals / Operational Expenses
• Knowledge of Chart of Accounts and Cost Centre Structure / GAAP
• Good knowledge of general accounting concepts and process
• Initiative and ability to work in a team
• Thoroughness (attention to detail)
• Able to identify and resolve problems
• Able to organise and manage work
• Analytical skills
• Good communication skills

Job Offer

The salary on offer is between £32,000 and £38,000 plus a generous benefits package.
