Finance Business Partner

Gleeson are currently recruiting for an excellent well know business based in Birmingham City Centre who are looking for a qualified Finance Business Partner (ACCA/CIMA/ACA), this is a rare opportunity for a qualified accountant to make the move into a truly business facing commercial role.

Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance you will be an integral part of the operational divisions along with New Markets providing commercial and financial support to assist with driving the businesses forward and optimising their financial performance. In particular, you will business partner the Operational and management teams, analysing and reporting on financial performance, fully understand the contractual obligations, commercial model and performance targets for the operations & understand the key drivers within the business unit to ensure performance is managed throughout.

Key Duties of Finance Business Partner: Birmingham City Centre

• Month end reporting and analysis of actual financial performance and variances to plan
• Understanding and reporting operational and financial performance
• Reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) - financial, operational & contractual
• Reporting and presenting information at Monthly Performance Reviews
• Providing financial and operational insight to Divisional Directors through detailed analysis of actual and forecast results
• Supporting Managers in preparing forecasts by providing analysis, making recommendations and challenging assumptions
• Supporting the annual business planning (budgeting) process and being involved in long-term strategic planning
• Support Managers with decision making in areas such as headcount, estates, cost control, incentive schemes
• Bid activity for new commercial opportunities
• Prepare and analyse cost saving opportunities
• Develop business cases to support decisions on new business initiatives
• Identify and evaluate risks, issues, sensitivities and opportunities to the forecast / plan
• Work with the business development team to convert sales models and forecasts for new programmes into operational business plans and support implementation of these projects
• Develop tools and models to support the business in preparing forecasts and plans and for making financial decisions
• Providing assurance around the Balance Sheet and other key areas of financial control to maintain the integrity of the accounts

Skills & Experiences of Finance Business Partner: Birmingham

• Qualified Accountant (ACCA,ACA,CIMA)
• Previous experience in a financial partnering role
• Previous experience working in a large, service industry business
• Experience of financial forecasting
• Experience of managing P&L's and Balance sheets
