As a multi-site Education Services and Delivery group, this high performing enterprise supports a broad range of UK wide business units. On-going investment and ambitious plans have created a high-profile opportunity for a Financial Controller/Head of Finance to lead financial reporting, oversee the processing of financial accounting data, cash flow management and develop long-term financial plans. Reporting to the Financial Director, you will lead a team of 10 staff via 6 direct reports. Your brief includes:

•Financial Accounting & Reporting
-Leading financial accounting processes across all business entities & preparation of monthly reporting for Board presentation
-Day to day management of the financial transaction team delivering payroll, finance business partnering & financial accounting services
-Financial accounting for Capital Investment Plan & ensuring correct treatment of property additions & disposals within business estates; overseeing accounting for investments & investment properties with responsibility for cash flow & treasury management; overseeing P&L & balance sheet accounts
-Management of year-end process, audit & statutory accounts preparation for Group & subsidiaries
-Managing the external audit process
•Tax & Compliance
-VAT compliance including approval & submission of returns, management of VAT inspections, monitoring legislation changes to ensure maximization of savings & efficiencies
-Oversee preparation of Gift Aid returns
-Oversee preparation of Corporation Tax returns for all entities
-Monitor relevant legislation & guidance from HMRC; lead on required changes to ensure implementation & compliance
•Supporting the preparation & presentation of financial information to stakeholders
•Leading finance business partnering with business entities to support the achievement of
financial objectives
•Developing & improving year-end process for consolidating business unit (20+) results into group accounts
•Developing & reviewing consolidated budget, periodic forecasts & long- term plans
•Leading development of financial & purchase ordering systems
•Lead and manage a team of 10+ via 6 direct reports

As an ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant, you will demonstrate significant financial reporting, management accounting, year-end, budgeting and forecasting experience, gained within a multi-site business environment. This highly visible role demands a self-motivated, enthusiastic approach, a strong commercial focus and evidence of business partnering with key stakeholders. Hands-on staff management, process improvement and controls implementation skills are pre-requisite.
