Financial Controller

A privately owned FMCG business in Peterborough are looking to appoint a Financial Controller to a newly created Group position. The role – offered on a full-time and permanent basis – will act as number one in finance: leading, coordinating and consolidating the Groups financial information with accountability for accurate reporting of the financial status and performance of the group.

Responsibilities of your new role

Your key responsibilities as Financial Controller will include:

• Statutory returns;
• Managing the Groups treasury function;
• Being the main point of contact for all audit and tax interactions;
• Understanding the business and helping to steer its commercial direction;
• Budgets, forecasts and regular updates via weekly flash reports/KPI's;
• Working closely with the commercial teams in steering pricing, helping business plans for existing products and helping to cost new ones;
• Helping to deliver growth in profits, volumes and customers;
• Communicating financial opportunities, risks and trends with the Board.

You'll be supported in the execution of the above responsibilities by a competent team, via 3 direct reports, all of whom will need to be led, managed and developed. 

Required skills, experience and qualifications

The successful Financial Controller will demonstrate:

• A background in FMCG, fresh produce, manufacturing or a multi-site operational business;
• Comfortable communicating with executives;
• A varied skill-set and the ability to wear many different hats;
• Adaptable to changes of pace and direction; and
• A recognised professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) and a solid technical background.

Salary and benefits

A competitive annual salary of £55,000 - £70,000 plus a comprehensive benefits package is on offer for the successful Financial Controller.
