This profitable international Infrastructure Construction, Design & Engineering Projects & contracting group, t/o £2bn, operates through several key operating divisions and specialises in the design, planning and maintenance of some of the world's most iconic infrastructure. Enjoying continued growth in recent years, the business has ambitious plans to capitalise on this success. As a result of an increasing number of large projects, the group is currently seeking a qualified accountant to undertake a new role as a Senior Project Accountant with sector expertise. Supporting a portfolio of new business contracts & projects in Birmingham, Cambridge and Northamptonshire, which will involve travel to contract sites and based out of new Northamptonshire offices near the motorway, your varied brief includes:

•Lead and deliver a full life-cycle project accounting service for the Midlands region, through Mobilisation onto operational state and into the life of this large programme of work
•Supporting the Project Director in ensuring financial governance & management of accounting systems & processes for the mobilization of several contracts
•Supporting the preparation of quarterly forecasts & annual budgets
•Ensure that revenue & costs are accurate & updated to maximise input for client & cost control
•Ensure accuracy of phasing & pro-active management & control of cash forecasting
•Ensure Contract balance sheet reconciliations are reviewed working closely with central finance
•Driving the profiling of revenue recognition & ensuring IFRS compliance
•Preparation of monthly financial reporting information for the operating unit & senior management

As a qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA, you will demonstrate strong technical knowledge of international accounting policies, project accounting & management reporting, budgeting and forecasting, gained ideally within the Construction or Infrastructure or Facilities Management sectors. The role demands the ability to lead and deliver high-calibre financial business partner support to key stakeholders and optimise contract/project profitability for the business unit. Initially based at HO in Hertfordshire, and then in new Northamptonshire offices, you will be expected to travel regularly to contract sites in the Midlands and Cambridgeshire.
