Our client is a very fast-paced market leader in the Business Services industry who have a truly global footprint, that are currently going through an exciting period of transformational change. With this change, they are currently seeking a talented Financial Accountant to join their team asap on an initial 9 month Fixed Term Contract, with a strong possibility of earning a permanent role if displaying great potential on the job.

The Financial Accountant will assist in ensuring the business unit produce correctly monthly financial figures, in line with corporate compliance standards, as well as local policies and standards. You would give sufficient support to business units, to ensure each area clearly understand and review their monthly performance.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and produce monthly profit and loss account for Business Improvement and HP EMEA. Provide analysis and action plan to Account Director and Financial Reporting Manager
  • Maintain and run the monthly Regular journals and Prepayments
  • Ensure all intercompany charges have been agreed and recharged within the business
  • Raise all monthly fixed and ad hoc invoices in accordance with monthly deadlines
  • Preparation for monthly VAT account reconciliation
  • Various balance sheet reconciliations preparation
  • Support the transition over to our new local accounting system, MS Navision
  • Support the preparation of financial accounting papers
  • Assist in both internal and external audit requirements
  • Complete the daily cash flow deviation report
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register by capitalising assets when required and running the monthly depreciation journal
  • Maintain and update blackline for all balance sheets in the BU.
  • To prepare cheques for non-purchase ledger payments ensuring they have been approved in accordance with Company policy and processed in to the P&L
  • Perform any ad-hoc duties at the discretion of the Financial Reporting Manager
  • Supporting the Financial Reporting Manager with the month end reporting

To be considered for this great opportunity, you will ideally be a fully qualified accountant – though if very nearly so then this may suffice. You must have at least 2/3 years relevant experience to the spec, however most importantly you must have worked in – and really thrive in – a very fast-paced, changing environment and be able to demonstrate this on your CV. Excellent communication skills are of course a must and a great sense of humour is essential!
