Senior Financial Accountant | Central London | Up to £70,000 per annum + Additional Benefits

 

Reporting to the Head of Financial Reporting, the Senior Financial Accountant will be responsible for driving the continuous improvement of the financial close and monthly reporting control processes, as well as developing group cash management procedures and controls. This will involve a focus on day to day operational tasks but will also provide the opportunity to work on, and implement, a variety of projects based initiatives. Some of the key responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for the collection and review of monthly and quarterly group reporting packs from regional offices, including review of variance analysis, balance sheet reconciliations and control checklists.
  • Preparation of quarterly covenant compliance reports.
  • Responsibility for the monthly review of inter company balances and production of the inter company reconciliation matrix.
  • Preparation of statutory financial statements for subsidiary entities.
  • Assisting in the preparation and review of the annual consolidated financial statements
  • Coordination of year end group audit file and liaise with auditors throughout the interim and year end audits to ensure completion in line with timetables.
  • Maintain, review, develop and document Group accounting policies.
  • Monitoring bank facility usage and overdraft.
  • Manage the daily and monthly cash flow forecasts; anticipating cash requirements and addressing any shortfalls.
  • Measure monthly cash management performance against forecast and budget for the Group.
  • Assist in devising and implementing new treasury policies and procedures in line with the overall Group strategy.

Experience required:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA)
  • Previous experience as a qualified accountant with excellent working knowledge of UK GAAP/FRS102.
  • Extensive experience in preparing and reviewing financial statements under UK GAAP
  • Experience of working within a multi-currency and multi-jurisdictional environment
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Must be self-motivated, highly organised and accurate with strong attention to detail and be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to forge strong working relationship with senior members of the finance team
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
