The Commercial Analyst role is being introduced to the Roadchef Motorway Services in order to provide proactive insightful analysis and enable high quality decision support both at a functional (operational and commercial) level and at a total company strategic level.

The Commercial Analyst will work within the finance department but will have a strong secondary line of responsibility into the commercial department.  Building good quality, proactive and challenging, working relationships with the commercial and operations teams will be key to the success of the role.

Areas where the Commercial Analyst will be key to adding value include:

• Investment appraisals for major capital expenditure decisions
• Post-completion reviews and identification of actions needed to maximise return on investment
• Brand performance reviews for catering, retail and grocery, including relevant customer behaviours and trends
• Site performance reviews including identification of transaction drivers by brand and for sites as a whole (utilising available traffic, turn-in and footfall data), margin improvement opportunities and labour deployment opportunities
• Price elasticity analysis including recommendations for pricing opportunities
• Basket and range analysis, including analysing the impact of promotions on profitability
• Provision of proactive analysis and insight for the gaming, parking and hotels areas of the business.
