What you would be doing…
This is an amazing opportunity to join a fantastic company at a very exciting time. You, as Financial Accountant, would report to our highly skilled Finance Director (who is new to the company himself) and work alongside our Management Accountant, Accounts Payable Assistant, Accounts Receivable Assistant and Treasury Assistant. The whole team works really closely together and is also tightly connected with the whole business, our member partners and business partners. This will give you the great opportunity to both bounce ideas off and learn from each other.
As the company’s only Financial Accountant, the overall purpose of your job is to ensure robust Financial control is maintained within the group structure, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the financial statements.
To do this, you would…
- Review and update the statutory accounts model once Management Account are complete for all for all companies
- Reconcile monthly balance sheet on all companies
- Reconcile monthly control account on all companies
- Manage 1 x AP Assistant & 1 x Treasury Assistant, doing their appraisals and catch ups
- Cover for 1 x AP Assistant & 1 x Treasury Assistant if they are sick/on leave
- Authorise purchase invoices for all companies (volume 700 invoices per month), bank payments and BACS runs
- Deal with Audit queries
- Support Management Accountant and FD when required
- Prepare and post payroll journals and reconciliation
- Complete Monthly Revenue and Cost of Sales journals for our Tour Ops business
- Create and communicate Monthly Cost journals for subsidiary businesses
- Produce quarterly VAT returns
- Update and maintain the Fixed Assets
- Check on Advantage Managed Services bank accounts to make sure they aren’t overdrawn
- Set up new company credit cards / cancel company credit cards no longer required
- Set up and train on Concur Expenses system
- Complete final authorisation on Concur expenses
- Chase outstanding credit card transactions on Concur
- Pension uploads and reconciliations for three group companies
- Deal with pension queries when Head of HR is unable to
