OKA was established in 1999 and has grown into a successful multi-channel retailer of beautiful, unique and affordable furniture and accessories for the home. Operating primarily in the UK today with plans in place to expand overseas, OKA has 14 stores and an extensive online and trade business and in 2018 secured private equity funding which has led to the recent acquisition of Wisteria in the USA, a similar size furniture retailer. With an ambitious growth plan in place for both the OKA and Wisteria brands, there is a new opportunity in the finance team for a Head of Financial Planning & Analysis.

Reporting to the CFO, the Head of FP&A will support the senior brand management teams in the UK and US, working closely with the UK Financial Controller and US CFO. You will be responsible for all financial planning activities, interpreting trading performance, assessing investment opportunities and establishing clear performance reporting. You will also be responsible for ensuring the Board receive timely and accurate analysis from which to make informed decisions and set future investment plans.

The Head of FP&A will maintain a rolling 5 Year Plan, analyse and articulate to the CEO/CFO and senior management the financial, operational and brand drivers behind the Group plan, and the financial impact of key strategic initiatives. You will manage the annual budget and reforecasts to ensure timely delivery and analysis and be responsible for operational cashflow forecasting. You will provide support to the CFO in the analysis of brand performance with focus on trading drivers (e.g. online metrics, margin and stock position, cost base) and to senior management on business analysis, working alongside the BI and Analysis Manager to determine and produce relevant reporting and own the preparation of all capital investment proposals.

A significant amount of this role will be anticipating and also responding to ad hoc queries and analysis as required from the CEO, CFO and investors, therefore prioritising work effectively to ensure that these delivered on a timely basis will be imperative.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with previous experience in a similar role. You will have excellent Excel skills including financial modelling and be able to act as a business partner with an ability to propose and deliver practical solutions to resolve complex problems. Strong communication and analytical skills are a must. Exposure to the retail/e-commerce sectors would be highly advantageous as would an appreciation of the expectations in a private-equity owned Group.

In return OKA Direct offers an excellent salary and benefits package and an opportunity to join a growing company at a very dynamic stage.

Please note that some travel to London will be required.
