Senior FPA Controller

Senior FPA Controller (EMEA), Media / London, c£80k plus bens

Great leadership opportunity for one of the world’s largest media owners. You will lead a team of 4 Financial Analysts, controlling the EMEA, acting as a financial ‘steward’ for c60 markets. As a trusted advisor you will provide commercial and financial guidance and direction. Your main contact will be the CFO of the country with exposure to the other local senior management to liaise closely with them on all financial aspects of the business.

Key responsibilities:

• Ownership of the EMEA regional results and forecasts, and accountable for delivering the results to target, which includes:
  • Understanding each country’s financial performance, risks and upsides.
  • Reviewing and analysing working capital, including:
  • Ad hoc financial projects concerning issues impacting our countries, for example, new business client pitches and profitability reviews
  • Assisting in M&A projects, including internal due diligence on M&A prospects and the subsequent ‘onboarding’ and financial integration of newly acquired entities.
  • Good understanding of financial systems (HFM, Smart View), providing guidance to local finance teams where necessary.

• • Managing the annual / quarterly / monthly financial planning process, including collecting, reviewing and analysing the figures reported by countries against targets and KPIs, and challenging country CFOs where necessary;
  • Managing the annual / quarterly / monthly reporting process, including collecting, reviewing and analysing the results against the latest reforecast / prior year / profit plan;
  • Helping deliver and shape the regional financial results by identifying areas of cost savings and areas for additional revenue delivery;
  • Reporting to Global Head Office in New York.

The candidate we are looking for is:

• A qualified accountant (ACA / CIMA preference)
• Experience of working within a large complex international business, ideally from a media or marketing services group
• Management experience
• Good working knowledge of a reporting tool such as HFM
