Our client, an exciting and fast-growing local business, are seeking to recruit an experienced Financial Controller to join them at their Head Office in Newton Abbot.

This position will serve as an integral member of the management team reporting to the Managing Director/Board. The requirements of the job will be many and varied to commensurate with the needs of a dynamic, high growth business.

They are looking for a commercially focused Financial Controller with the ability to drive revenue as well as keep downward pressure on costs.

Duties:

  • Continue to develop a supporting financial environment for the organisation in line with company growth
  • Advise the board and managers on budgeting, cash flow, forecast modelling and operational financial matters
  • Attend board meetings when required in order to present financial matters
  • Contribute to the development of company strategic goals and objectives
  • Production of management accounts, including KPI's, commentary and variance analysis
  • Development and fine tuning of essential KPIs to meet evolving needs
  • Review operational results and variances between actual, forecast and budgeted results
  • Ensure all statutory information is compiled and produced in line with regulatory requirements
  • Ensure overall compliance with HMRC and other relevant bodies of the organisation's tax affairs
  • Manage and take responsibility for the organisation's working capital and cash flow requirements as well as taking ownership of our banking arrangements
  • Supporting the MD in any future growth transactions e. acquisitions and investments
  • Contribution to pricing decisions financial and strategic perspectives

Candidate:

  • Qualified accountant with ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualifications
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers
  • Self-reliant, good problem solver, results oriented
  • Ability to communicate financial information to non-financial staff
  • Minimum 10 years' experience gained in a high-growth organization ideally with international experience
  • Proven track record of success facilitating progressive organisational change and development within a growing organisation
  • Excellent judgment and creative problem solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a team leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical finance and administration initiatives
  • Strong hands-on Excel skills to advanced level
