Our client is large Private Equity backed business and has achieved significant year on year growth which is set to continue. They have built up a loyal customer base, having established a scalable platform. The company is led by an experienced management and investor team. They require a commercially minded yet technically strong Financial Controller to support the growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop, document and embed scalable finance processes and controls to support significant company growth, improve team efficiency and reduce reporting timelines.
- Manage the month end close process and prepare monthly consolidated management accounts and Board pack (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and KPIs) including detailed commentaries.
- Closely manage the cash and treasury function: including weekly and monthly multi-currency cash, intercompany funding, bank accounts and FX hedges.
- Monitor and model forward visibility of banking covenant compliance and other obligations under financing arrangements; including financial forecasting, working capital analysis and preparation of the quarterly bank covenant compliance certificate.
- Assist the CFO in the preparation of operating budgets / re-forecasts.
- Act as finance lead in current and future finance transformation projects re: Group’s financial reporting, control and MIS systems to ensure timely, accurate data and analysis to support the quality of management decision making.
- Ensure HMRC compliance including VAT returns, corporation and other tax returns/reporting.
- Lead the annual audit process.
- Keep abreast of developments in accounting standards and advise CFO and Board of their implications for the Group.
- Manage, motivate and develop the operational Finance team.
- Ad hoc financial reporting and analysis to support strategic decision making.
Requirements:
- Degree educated, excellent academics.
- Qualified Accountant.
- Team mentoring and management skills.
- Shows initiative & ambition with the ability and gravitas to influence senior management.
- Ability to multi-task & excellent attention to detail.
- Strong technical accounting skills.
- Commercial acumen and strong Excel skills.
- Microsoft dynamics experience would be an advantage.
- An ability to work to tight deadlines.
