A global engineering firm which spans multiple sectors is looking to appoint a senior Tax professional to manage its Tax responsibilities and multiple projects across the European, Middle East North American and African entities. With a dotted line in to the US parent company, the plan is for the role to develop into a global one within a short period of time.
Reporting to the European Controller and with a dotted line to the US based Finance Director, the role of Head of International Tax & Projects will be responsible for:
Overseas Tax Compliance
- Review and monitor potential and active projects to establish the tax and social security compliance position either in house or by liaising with local advisers.
- Overseas Personnel Tax return review and/or preparation & submittal.
- Monitoring personnel movements to establish those individuals potentially affected by the Company’s tax and social security obligations.
- Overseas VAT return preparation and review with group tax team.
- Overseas corporation return preparation and review and review with group tax team.
- Registration of Company and its workers with tax authorities.
- Preparation of monthly report updating personnel tax & social security position for each country - to give management a concise overview of overseas status and highlight potential risk areas
Other Tax Compliance
- Lead discussions with the corporate Tax teams on new potential projects & active projects to ensure the wider tax compliances are adhered to.
- Partner with global Tax teams to agree and approve overseas tax filings and exposure discussions.
- Liaise with Finance/Controllership teams to guide businesses through audit and investigation from local authorities.
- Partner with in-house legal/tax personnel to deliver tax efficient and compliant project set-up.
- Engage in cross-channel discussions to deliver efficiency savings and consolidation of out of country advisors.
UK Personnel Taxes
- Overview of UK PAYE/NI compliance with relation to overseas offset and refunds etc - and related liaison with UK/Offshore payroll team.
- Complete PSA
The role will also provide input and advise on bids and tenders as the company looks to grow on a local and global scale. The role holder will also have exceptional project and business partnering skills with an ability to work across multiple countries and cultures.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Tax professional with previous exposure to a large multinational business, be it in house or in capacity of a client.
This role is full time, but part time applicants will also be considered.
