Group Financial Accountant

Elevation Recruitment Group are proud to be recruiting on an exclusive basis for a well established and successful wholesale and distribution group as they look to bring on an experienced Group Financial Accountant for their head office site in Chesterfield.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of financial and management information, providing technical advice to the Reporting Team and wider business. In addition, there will be Internal and External Audit support, and the calculation and reporting of indirect taxes, National Statistics surveys and ad hoc information requests.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Ensure management information and associated reporting are accurate and delivered on time
- Provide Finance Manager with weekly updates and priorities
- Manage indirect taxes reporting timelines and submissions
- Ensure compliance with relevant SOX requirements
- Review work of the Assistant Accountant
- Lead on the reconciliation of key/complex Balance Sheet control accounts
- Contribute to ongoing process improvements
- Provide support in a variety of different projects
- Ensure Internal and External audit requests/issues are resolved on a timely basis

Applicants should possess the following skills and attributes in order to be considered for this role:-

- ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified
- 2-3 years accounting experience either within practice or industry
- Strong technical accounting skills
- Advanced Excel
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of SOX would be highly desirable although not essential
