Harrogate. £36,000 - £44,000
Marks Satin currently have a vacancy for a confident and methodical Payroll Manager to join a Group HR Shared Services Team, to maintain the accuracy that we have when it comes to payroll.
As the Payroll Manager, you will not only have the chance to work as part of a close-knit and highly collaborative team, but also the freedom and influence to contribute to the way our payroll function operates. Supporting the HR Shared Services Manager, you will ensure the smooth running of the payroll function through timely and accurate processing of payroll, the submission and payment of monthly and annual files to HMRC whilst remaining compliant with current legislation.
Being able to look at the process in its entirety and understand the controls in place will be key in your involvement in refining and streamlining. In addition to this, it is important that you ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll as well as the accurate submission and payment of monthly and annual files to HMRC, whilst remaining compliant with current legislation.
Whilst overseeing the payroll operation, you'll have the pleasure of managing a team of 2-3 individuals and performing 1-2-1s, conducting performance reviews, prioritise the team's workload and ensuring all BAU activities are delivered.
What will it take?
- Experience in payroll migration and transformation projects
- Member of part qualification of the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) or equivalent experience
- Experience of reconciling payroll through to production of BACS would be advantageous
- Methodical with a high attention to detail to anticipate barriers to progress and liaises with colleagues to overcome
- Ability to problem solve and liaise with Manager
- Professional in appearance, conduct, language and manner.
- High level of integrity and discretion
- Actively identifies opportunities for collaborative working relationships
