Role As a Cost Transforation Lead Manager in the Finance and Commercial team, you will work closely with the Functions and Programmes within DCC to understand their business strategy and scope, scale and timescale to drive their cost transformation and thus savings.

This role will be key to supporting the teams through the cost transformation lifecycle from strategic opportunity assessment through to supporting delivery of specific cost savings initiatives. You will bring external challenge and a breadth and depth of expertise underpinned by analytics and innovative thinking.

To be successful in this role you will have experience of helping to shape and lead projects across multiple functions to deliver sustainable savings.

Key to the Role

  • Aggregation of a total view on savings/actual savings realised

  • Drive cost transformation, through challenge and influence, throughout DCC to ensure that it becomes embedded in the culture of DCC

  • To ensure costs are removed permanently and reflected in actual vs forecast

  • End to end review of costs base - consolidation of an accurate view of total costs by Function and the business

  • Review/High Level challenge of initiatives and business cases e. profiling, level of savings, other areas that savings could be realised e. driving step change in Procurement performance

  • Review of Business Plans/Budgets and joining dots re requirements for Operating Model/Efficiency Programme

  • Transparency on how savings are reflected in the P&L post implementation

  • Hold Functions/programmes to account for delivery of identified savings and timings on cost reduction activities

Key Accountabilities

  • Identify and 'flesh-out' cost saving initiatives across the business to create a pipeline of savings

  • Identify potential areas for commercial re-negotiations

  • Engaging with stakeholders in all areas of the business up to exec level, to map processes and identify potential improvements

  • Collate and analyse date in order to develop business cases for transformation initiatives

  • Utilise tools and methodologies alongside specialist knowledge to deliver cost savings programmes

  • Utilise creativity and innovations to develop solutions and strategies that deliver maximum value cost improvements

  • Undertake complex Opportunity Assessment Reviews and develop valid opportunities and propositions across all areas of spend.

  • Strong project management skills, capable of managing large or complex programmes that encompass change and transformation.

  • Bring innovative and fresh thinking in procurement delivery and specialist areas of expertise to ensure high degree of client satisfaction.

  • Excellent interpersonal and engagement skills with ability to support and positively challenge clients and deliver negotiations.

  • A clear, concise communicator with strong presentation skills (oral and written) and ability to positively influence.

  • People management experience and skills including providing guidance and support to project teams and individuals.

  • The ability to change and influence stakeholders at all levels

  • An impeccable record in delivery of cost reduction projects

  • Experience conducting activity value analysis

  • Will have worked in a complex and changing environment with demanding business objectives

  • Is innovative, self-starter and results orientated

  • Experience of direct and indirect people management.

  • Minimum degree level qualification.
