Your new company
My client is a charity within the mental health sector who is going through an extended period of growth and development. The organisation is one of the largest mental health charities in Oxfordshire that provides housing and a range of support for people that experience severe and enduring mental health needs.

Your new role

  • Record financial transactions for project, department, or company
  • Preparing financial statements for internal & external use (P&L, Balance sheet, cash flow, banking covenant statements)
  • Reconcile spending versus budget as part of project costing
  • Prepare reports, budgets, variance analysis and commentaries of the financial statements
  • Analyse Response financial performance and prepare short term & long term forecasts
  • Perform key balance sheet reconciliation tasks and central journal postings
  • Recommend ways of cost cutting and longer term cost management
  • Work with departmental heads and management team to help make sound financial decisions
  • Supervise a team of payroll and payables staff
  • Assist in year-end processes and statutory accounts preparation
  • Liaise with external auditors for Statutory audits matters
  • Develop and manage financial systems/policies
  • Deputising for the Finance Director in their absence


What you'll need to succeed
My client requires an analytical, detail-oriented critical thinker with knowledge of housing and understanding of charity finance regulations and legislation. You must be able to work independently, delegate to and manage a team and have the ability to work to a deadline. You should have either qualified as an Accountant or be on your way to qualification.
