Financial Accountant

A fast-paced and niche business services organisation are currently looking for a part-qualified Financial Accountant to join their project accounting team in St. Ives, Cambridgeshire. Offered on a full-time, permanent basis, this Financial Accounting role pays up to £34,000 per year.

Responsibilities of your new role

Your core duties as Financial Accountant will include;

• Production of monthly management accounts and board pack;
• Management of cash flow;
• Assisting with the yearly audit and statutory accounts production;
• Maintenance of the fixed asset register and monthly repairs and maintenance review;
• Production of the annual tax packs;
• Monthly VAT analysis and quarterly returns;
• Profit share calculations;
• Assisting with the yearly budget process;
• Delivering system and process improvements;
• Providing financial support to business projects; and
• Undertaking project support and analysis as required.

Candidate requirements

The business hopes to speak with Financial Accountant applicants who can demonstrate:

• An excellent understanding of accounting principles and ideally actively studying towards an accounting qualification (ACCA or CIMA);
• Experience of fixed assets and stock is ideal and confident working with people at varying levels of seniority up to board level personnel; and
• Strong Excel skills and the ability to pick up new systems – training will be given on the accounting systems.
