Finance Analyst

Our client operates a network of properties providing a service to a variety of customers. 

They are looking for a team of four Finance Analysts to carry out a Financial Control project in the London Head Office. It is envisaged that this project will likely be for approx.6 months (note that Year End is in September and this must be completed by then).

Role Description

To undertake an in-depth review of control account reconciliations and recommend actions to correct the recording of incorrectly treated transactions. 

This will be a hands-on role, requiring candidates with investigative skills, an attention to detail and the drive to see the project through. You will need an ability to trace in the accounting system the transactions causing any differences, to investigate what should have happened and make recommendations on the corrective action needed.

High level tasks (System used will be Oracle)

• Property Costs
  • Review reconciliations to identify any unresolved queries. 
  • Analyse the underlying transactions and recommend the corrections required.
• Purchase Ledger
  • Review full reconciliation of purchase ledger control account. 
  • Analyse the underlying transactions and recommend the corrections required.
• Sales Ledger/Sales Invoicing
  • Review reconciliation of sales ledger control account. 
  • Analyse the underlying transactions and recommend the corrections required.
• Other
  • Assist with other finance related projects as and when required. 
     

Experience Required

• Strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping and accounting principles (this is extremely important and will be tested)
• Analytical skills and an enquiring approach

• Knowledge of Oracle would be an advantage
