Finance Manager - 55- 60k + Benefits

Reporting to - Finance Director

Location - Twickenham

Permanent / Full Time

We are recruiting for a fully qualified and experienced Finance Manager to work in the education sector. You will be entitled to excellent benefits within the job role including 20days holiday to take during school holiday periods and 8 bank holidays. They are looking for someone with a professional and confident manner to come in and manage a small finance team, they need to be able to ensure that all responsibilities are carried out correctly and on time for themselves and also their team.

Main Responsibilities-

  • Day to day financial operations whilst managing the finance team
  • Preparing monthly management accounts and annual financial statements
  • Preparing Audit files and liaise with the auditors
  • Control and maintain fees ledger whilst distributing and preparing fee invoices
  • Chasing late fee payers and providing the debtors reports
  • Managing scholarships, bursaries and staff remissions
  • Control of the General Ledger
  • Ensuring the purchase ledger is maintained
  • Completing the bank reconciliations for approval
  • Analysing and reviewing debtor and creditor accounts
  • Managing the finances of joint ventures

Essential skills-

  • Qualified (eg ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA)
  • Degree level qualification (or equivalent) with good numerical understanding
  • Sufficient understanding of management accounting and financial reporting
  • Leading and managing a small team
  • Experience in charity accounting
  • Knowledge of financial accounting systems and excellent IT literacy
  • Good analytical skills to provide sufficient advice and guidance
  • Prioritising workloads whilst under pressure in a calm and positive manner
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Approachable and confident manner
  • Advanced Excel knowledge, such as use of formulae for calculations
  • Previous experience in the independent education sector is desirable but not essential
