Venatu Recruitment Group are delighted to be working with a well-established company based in Nottinghamshire to recruit an experienced Financial Controller to join the team on a permanent basis.  

As a member of the management team the role demands involvement in all aspects of the business to ensure that profitability is maximised with regard to both medium- and long-term objectives and

exposures to commercial risk.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Preparation of monthly, half yearly and year-end management account in the required format and to timescales set by the group

Responsible for ensuring that all nominal ledger accounts are reconciled promptly after each period close

Maintenance of the purchase ledger, sales ledger, nominal ledger and fixed asset register

Work with the IT Manager taking responsibility new IT systems both financial and operational systems

Preparation of interim and year end audit packs incorporating the accounting policies to include production of statutory accounts and liaising with external auditors and taxation consultants

Setting annual budgets

Assisting with the production of a 3-year plan. Monitoring the success of the 3-year plan with KPI analysis.

CANDIDATE EXPECTATIONS:

Previous experience of working as a Financial Controller in a company with a turnover of at least £8 million pounds

Strong communication skills both written and verbally

Ability to produce timely and accurate information

Ability to understand and present financial information

Strong/ Confident decision maker

Proven ability to manage a successful finance team.
