Financial Accountant

Interim Commercial Chartered accountant job, Guildford, Surrey paying up to £350 per day ltd company

You will be joining a business organisation in their HQ close to the centre of Guildford, Surrey.

Your new role
Reporting into the finance Controller, you will be covering a broad commercial finance role focused on revenue for one of their key business units. This highly visible role will see you engaging at all levels of finance, operations as well as directly with customers to drive performance and delivery through management reporting and providing high quality financial analysis. This role may require occasional travel to our London office and possibly to other offices but the role is predominantly based in Guildford Head Office. Travel will be expensed. Responsibilities

• Production of detailed monthly management accounts for the group including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow
• Commentary on performance vs budget and prior year
• Maintain the financial integrity of the accounts and deliver robust controls and reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts
• Develop systems and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective management of the Group's finances
• Responsibility over quality control of financial transactions
• Integration of acquisition financial reporting and control
• Process improvement - driving the efficiency, consistency and quality of financial reporting
• Act as a key contact point for the auditors

Required Skills

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, practice trained)
• Experience of engaging and working with senior business stakeholders
• Production of cashflow statements
• Ability to work against tight time lines
• Experience in managing budgets
• Ability to work under own initiative
• A positive, friendly and enthusiastic attitude
• A desire to make a positive difference to an organisation
• Integrity and trustworthiness
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Adaptable and ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
• Computer literate: Excel

Insurance industry experience not essential but would be an advantage.

What you'll need to succeed
In addition to your professional accounting qualification (qualified ACA) or equivalent you will ideally have strong experience working within commercial finance/analytical positions s. In addition to your commercial finance exposure, you should be comfortable working with senior stakeholders, challenging the norm to drive business growth within a fast paced, sometimes pressured environment.
