Exciting sports media business going through a rapid period of growth are looking for a Management Accountant to join their London HQ. Key to the role is taking full ownership of the Finance function alongside producing timely, precise and value-adding reports and analysis to help support the decision-making process of the broader business.

The Role

  • Manage the operating functions of the Finance team, ensuring all elements of the balance sheet and P&L are fully up to date and represent a true picture of the company.
  • Take responsibility to ensure full detail and complete clarity in accounts payable, accounts receivable and the companies’ bank accounts.
  • In time manage an Accounts Assistant and assist the Head of Finance grow the team both locally and globally.
  • Produce and consolidate monthly management accounts for the Group.
  • Prepare weekly management reports to form the basis of the Executive Chairman’s weekly review of the business.
  • Create and develop ad-hoc reports to support the decision-making process.
  • Management of an Accounts Assistant in day to day running of accounts payable, accounts receivable and the bank.
  • Oversee the credit control process.
  • Help create, manage and reconcile project budgets.
  • Provide analysis of the businesses performance - reporting both internally and externally to clients.
  • Support the Head of Finance and Operations in the creation of group budgets and adapting the company’s business plan.
  • Assist the Head of Finance and Operations in preparing Board documents for quarterly board meetings.
  • Manage supplier relationships.
  • Review and report on the company’s staffing structure, focussing on potential cost efficiencies.
  • Complete VAT returns.

The Person

  • Proven experience providing accurate monthly management accounts under strict time constraints.
  • Evidence of successfully working within a fast paced and evolving work environment.
  • Preferably a finalist or qualified in ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent qualification
  • At least three years relevant experience, preferably within a marketing, media or technology environment.
  • Ability to resolve problems and the confidence to make proposals to and advise senior staff.
  • Ability to focus and concentrate when the subject matter around the individual can be distracting from time
