Management Accountant (Mat Cover), Central London – Not for Profit, up to £50,000

Maternity cover management accountant role available in a large not for profit organisation based in Central London. The candidate will be a support to the Head of Finance and Operations and will be responsible for the management and financial accounts as well as having input to strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the efficiency, regularity and timeliness of results and deadlines relating to all financial aspects of the property portfolio.
  • Ensure robust financial systems, procedures and controls are in place, properly documented, regularly reviewed and efficiently used.
  • Ensure monthly reconciliation of all property control accounts are completed in a timely manner
  • Contribute to all audits and statutory compliance in line with UK regulations and compliance requirements
    • Develop and maintain a monthly cash flow projection and analysis process
    • Ensure that VAT returns and completed and reconcile on a quarterly basis
  • Ensure budgets and financial reports relating to the property portfolio are robust and meet requirements.
  • Generate financial analysis, back-up papers and reports and produce effective synthesis for management decision-making, Board submissions and other reporting requirements.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified accountant
  • Post qualification experience in financial accounting, management accounting and reporting.
  • Experience of charity accounting, VAT and knowledge of auditing.
  • Experience of project budgeting and accounting including cost recovery modelling, cash flow management and reporting.
  • Experience of designing and managing financial systems, processes and procedures
  • Advanced hands-on experience using Excel and integrated multi-ledger accounting systems, including the production and adaptation of pivot tables.
  • Experience of managing internal cost recharges and allocations.
  • Good interpersonal, customer care and liaison skills with a wide range of stakeholders.
