Finance Director

Following the promotion of our current Finance Director, Chris Wall, to Chief Executive, effective May 2019, we are seeking a permanent Finance Director to play a key role in the future of Coverage Care. As Finance Director you will join the Chief Executive and Operations Director as one of three executive directors responsible for the strategic direction and leadership of Coverage Care. Coverage Care is a multi-award winning, Not for Profit independent provider of care operating entirely in Shropshire, delivering residential, nursing and extra care services and operating 14 care and nursing homes. We employ approximately 1,100 staff with a turnover of circa £27m and operate as a Community Benefit Society with charitable status.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Delivering strategic financial management demonstrating commercial focus within a Not for Profit environment. This will require a structured approach, intelligence and enthusiasm given our service values.
• Supporting finance systems and reporting to enable budget and other financial information to be produced accurately and efficiently and also ensuring that all IT systems fully support and are developed to meet the needs of the organisation.
• Exploring and evaluating opportunities for financing future developments if required, and reviewing and servicing the existing financing to ensure there is an appropriate balance of different types of funding and commercial activities in order to fund our services and development.
• Ensuring clear governance standards and performance targets; leading on information governance across the company and fulfilling the role of Data Protection Officer.
• Developing KPIs and providing comprehensive monthly reports to the Chief Executive, Executive Management Group and the Board.

To succeed you will be a qualified accountant, with experience in senior finance leadership roles. You will have previous experience with information governance, improving systems and processes, and developing teams. Knowledge of the not for profit, health or social care sectors will be highly advantageous. With well-established Executive and Non-Executive leadership, we would welcome applications both from aspiring and experienced directors.
