Your new company

My client is a successful business based in Stoke on Trent. They are looking for Finance Business Partner to join their finance team to analyse data, develop business partnering support and provide analytical and strategic decision support through forecasting, monitoring and reporting.


Your new role

As a Finance Business Partner you will be responsible for below duties:

  • Analysing financial performance by contract and customer across the business units by creating product and activity level P&L reporting.
  • Working with the Data team to develop job profitability reporting to identify sub-optimal trading and growth opportunities.
  • Leading commercial reviews to provide learning and insight from completed commercial activity.
  • Monitoring and maintain rate cards to ensure profitable outcomes including overhead recovery for key activities.
  • Tender submissions - to promote profitable sales growth
  • Focused analysis and support on stock holding to optimise working capital and support buying and selling decisions.
  • Supporting the development of a commercial matrix for all key customers and activities to track the status of customer contracts
  • Supporting the production of KPIs, dashboards and other reporting by the Finance team.
  • Assisting budget preparation: interpreting, challenging and reporting the key commercial assumptions.
  • Monitoring financial risks and opportunities across the business for inclusion into the forecasts
  • Preparing "what-if" analysis, financial appraisals and scenario planning.
  • Completing variance analysis including relevant commentary.
  • Participating in reporting improvements, including the treatment of cross charges between business units, to ensure internal customers' needs are met.
  • Building long standing cross functional relationships, challenge constructively and ensure professional objectivity.
  • Ensuring scheduled reports are produced on time and efficiently.
  • Promoting continuous improvement.



What you will need to succeed

You will be

  • Fully or partly ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified with appropriate PQE including MI and forecasting
  • Self-motivated, resilient and able to demonstrate initiative
  • Able to think both strategically and tactically
  • A great communicator with ability to influence others
  • Proven analytical capability and experience of preparing commercial insight
