We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Financial Manager to join our Unlisted Investments Division on a 15-month fixed term basis to manage and develop a team of 11 to ensure that the control environment and transactional processing enables accurate and timely financial information in the most efficient manner.
Responsible for the end to end financial activity of the division containing 6 fast paced entrepreneurial businesses. You will be responsible for delivering and enhancing the financial information presented to the business and translating this in a language that is useable for Senior Managers with a non-financial background.
We are ideally looking for someone who is ACCA/CIMA qualified with strong people management skills, with a proven track record of developing talent.
KEY DUTIES:
• Responsible for ensuring the delivery of accurate Financial Reporting within set deadlines, monthly management accounts and board presentations are the key deliverables in addition to quarterly reporting to Group.
• Manage the five year business planning, annual budgeting and monthly forecast processes producing a Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and Cashflow budget for the year. Review and challenge management assumptions.
• Closely manage working capital working collaboratively with management and ensuring accurately and timely processing of transactions.
• Maintain, monitor and develop the financial controls within divisions and ensure compliance with certain external requirements e.g. VAT submissions
• Understand the ERP system and identify areas which will provide greater value/automation including an understanding of integration with non-finance systems
• Provide financial support and analysis to the Senior Management team within each business interpreting the numbers in a way which will drive value in the business and developing KRIs.
To measure business performance. This includes both delivering monthly reporting and ad hoc analysis.
• Manage and develop a team containing, qualified accountants, trainee accountants and transactional processing staff.
• Deliver the annual statutory accounts as the main contact with the Auditors for the division.
KEY KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- • ACCA/CIMA Qualified
- • Strong attention to detail
- • Ability to develop relationships at all levels
- • Good people manager with a track record of developing talent
- • Experience of producing and presenting high quality financial reports
- • Experience of implementing and maintaining financial controls
- • Experience of implementing and developing systems is an advantage
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- • Travel to business sites will be necessary however rarely requires an overnight stay
