Management Accountant

Permanent Management Accountant opportunity based in Dumfries. Up to 35k per annum plus benefits

A leading manufacturing firm based in Dumfries is seeking to recruit an experienced Management Accountant on a permanent full time basis due to growth.

Your new role
As Management Accountant, you will be responsible for leading, managing, motivating and mentoring an experienced team of 6 finance professionals. This varied role will encompass a wide range of accounting tasks including supporting monthly management accounts, SOX compliance, managing supplier payment runs and managing the Accounts Payable team.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Calculating and posting journals for the monthly management accounts.
• Provide accounts analysis to help inform management decisions.
• Managing the AP team to ensure team works efficiently, has well defined processes, is well trained and is multi skilled to ensure cover is available within the team.
• Manage the AP ledger to ensure transactions are accurate and up to date.
• Manage the supplier payments processes.
• Cash forecasting for outgoing payments.
• Manage new supplier account set up and amendment processes.
• Liaison with external and internal auditors and application/testing of controls for Sarbanes Oxley
• A good standard of expertise in Excel, PowerPoint and general IT literacy is essential.

What you'll need to succeed
Proven experience across management accounting and operational reporting.
Staff management experience is vital, and you will ideally have experience in managing a finance/transactional processing team.
Exposure to a large complex organisational structure is preferable.
System wise, a working knowledge of Hyperion and ERP would be preferred, and strong Excel skills are essential to succeeding. You will be an excellent communicator with an analytical mind with the ability to analyse large date sets.
